Urban Space in Milan

Atelier Antonio Citterio. The intention was to give this small plot in the city centre a certain simplicity and at the same time some signs of rhythm. It all began from the effort to change the façade into a musical score.
A musical score of diverse measures, heights, proportions that achieve the whole of an harmony. The ground floor is assigned to the commercial zone that connects the whole square underneath to a big commercial centre.
The second and third floors are used as parking lots for the commercial centre and residences. There are art galleries (which spread over three floors), congress halls, sport and fitness zones.
On every floor, there are 1 to 4 apartments based on diverse exigencies requested by the client.
The interiors are mostly essential. They use modern materials like steel and resin.

L’intenzione è quella di costruire un volume sobrio,ma che nello stesso momento possa dare una nota ritmica. Per creare un’armonia complessiva tra le parti si è cercato di scandire le facciate come se si volesse comporre uno spartito musicale di diverse misure, altezze, proporzioni.
La piazza situata nel piano terra è stato adibita a negozi e si collega a un grande centro commerciale sottostante. I piani -2 e -3 sono stati progettati spazi per l'art gallery, la sala congressi, le zone sport,il wellness e i parcheggi.
Per ogni piano sono presenti da 1 a 4 appartamenti in base alle diverse esigenze richieste dal cliente. Gli interni tendono all'essenziale e utilizzano materiali moderni come acciaio e resine.
